help us
Who takes care of your love one? We all have a mom or dad or another adult with a disability that may be alone or in need of services. Although some insurance covers some services, there are many who can not afford to eat, to buy their medicine or to go to the doctor. We could not spell support without “u”. Your financial support can help us:
Your support can help feed a senior or an adult with a disability that is home-bound.
Your support can keep them from being abuse or financial exploited.
Your support can give someone the opportunity to go to work and leave their love one in a safe place.
Your support can help transport someone to the their doctor or grocery store
Your support can assist them stay independent by building a wheelchair ramp or grab bars, etc.
With the growth of the Baby Boomers, the demand for the growing Senior Population continues to grow. In order to accommodate and provide much needed services in one location, we are looking to develop a multi-complex that includes at 60,000 sq foot senior center with a pool, restaurant, services, activity rooms, senior housing for low-income and retail shops for senior services. To accomplish this task we are seeking a donation of land and funds for a capital project.

Volunteer opportunities
DEDICATING TIME AND TALENT TO A GOOD CAUSE
Volunteer in our Adult Day and & Activity Center (My Friend's Haus). There you will get the opportunity to work one-on-one with our Friends to develop trusting relationships and enhance the quality of life for that person. Tasks include exploring the computer with them; helping them within a group setting to accomplish an activity they may not otherwise be able to do: helping them at mealtime; playing games; reading to them; reminiscing with them about the past. We currently have over 400 volunteers who are working together to deliver 300 meals a day. Volunteer one day a month or one day a week. We are happy to have you.
Our thrift store always needs help with sorting, pricing and displaying donated items. If you have had any retail or sales experience you would love it!
If you have always been the "go to" person. Consider serving as the contact point for various activities or clubs. Most of the people you see at the front desk are volunteers who answer the phone, sign up new members and accept payments. We also welcome your service and experience on various committees that we have for membership, publicity, fund raising and grants.
If you are good with numbers, consider helping our clients in the money management program. Here you will find opportunities to serve as a payee for those unable to manage their finances.
Once a month we also put together a newsletter to be mailed. Help with putting together this and other special mailings are always appreciated.
If you love to read and keep things in order consider volunteering in our library. Remember library is available to our members for free.
